RT Special CE Requirements

CE REQUIREMENT FOR RT’S

WITH A TENNESSEE X-RAY LICENSE

The Medical and Osteopathic Boards now require that two (2) of the required twenty (20) biennial Continuing Education (CE) credits pertain to appropriate Tennessee Board Rules, Ethics, Sexual boundaries, and other related topics.

These hours must also include content related to the ARRT Standards of Ethics for fully certified licensees. (RTs with a Tennessee x-ray license)

All RT’s who work in a Physician’s Office must obtain a state license, and must obtain these two special CE credits. The 24 credits earned for ARRT do suffice for regular state CE requirements, but if the 24 credits do not include at least two of these special credits, RTs must obtain these credits for state license renewal.

"The new CE requirement is a Tennessee law. The R.T. licensed in Tennessee must abide by the state rules and regulations. Non-compliance with the state's rules and regulations may be viewed as a violation of the ARRT Standards of Ethics."                                                                                This wording approved by ARRT

These two (2) special credits offered by X-Ray News can not be used for ARRT CAT A credits.
